I'm buying a speaker/amplifier bundle, does this look right to you?

Somebody is advertising a speaker/amplifier bundle as in this:

1000W System

4x250W Speakers

1x500W Amplifier [I am presuming this is a stereo amp so 500W means 1000W]

Is this right?

Actually what it's stating is that it has 4 speakers that can handle 250 each and the amplifier is just 500W. I'm assuming that it's probably a 5 channel receiver that puts out 100W on each channel. That doesn't make it a 1000W system and he has just said that to make it sound more powerful. You will have to get clarification on the make/model of the speakers and receiver and then ask us if the make/models are good or not.
