I'm buying an engine computer for my neon. It's asking for the part number.?

I don't know it. I have the VIN, and I've never replaced anything in it. Will they be able to get the correct part number just by me telling them that? Or do I need to loose more time from a possible repair and have someone tell me what exactly it is resulting in a lost day of shipping...

  1. There is a specific number or numbers on the e.c.m. case. The computers have different calibration due to things like transmission, high altitude, etc. The only way to get the right one is to match the number on the computer. Sorry for that. One would think the manufacturers by now would have started putting a sticker in the door frame or firewall by now.  Too bad the engineers don't have to fix these things once and a while.
