  2. Contact your neares brazilian consulate, and ask if they can reffer you to a local attorney. Posse land is tricky, and you should proceed with caution...

  3. The first thing you need is a CPF, foreigners are able to obtain them and you don't have to be resident in Brazil. The best way to get it done is through the Brazilian consulate in your country.   4. well if i was you i would put a football academy on it. brazilian kids are awsome and you could make money by offering them a contract and selling them to bigger acedmys in the area like sau paulo something. i have allways wanted to do that lol

  6. its pretty hard. not as easy as people try to make it sound. i believe that you can't even buy land down there if you are american. something about laws against it.

  7. Might want to see if you can buy if your not from that country you may not be able to purchase.

    Then might want to see if or how often the country might Nationalize foreign ownership of land and monies as well...

  8. Certified local real state agents; check for some on the Brazilian Yahoo directory but in person and with legal aid that would be far much better.

    And land by "posse" alone is definitely not safe. "Posse" means possession, or that current occupiers have been making use of the land for long enough to claim ownership BUT does not imply they have legal deeds or certificates to prove they have lawfully acquired the land by purchase, inheritance, etc. There is a legal distinction in the Brazilian system, and you'll want something that incorporates both elements.Which may not always be the case: illegal occupation of unproductive or public land in the hope of legalising the situation over the course of generations has been an awfully common practise, both in urban and rural areas - social inequalities, homelessness, bureaucracy, historical and political controversies, all have contributed to that.
