  1. It sounds as though you are coming off it too quickly . I think you should go back to your G.P and ask what is the best way to get off it. Maybe you need to take a different medication temporarily to help with the side effects. Ask him/her what period of time you should take to wean off the citalopram and how you should go about it. The G.P should be able to tell you the exact dose you should be taking and for how long before you drop down to a lower dose. Good Luck.

  2. I recently came off it too...I only went on it because I lost my insurance and I could get it for the $4 at Wally World.  Prior to that I was on Lexapro.

The reason I go into that is, I had some leftover Lexapro samples and I called the doctor to ask him if I could use them to come off the citalapram (Celexa).  He told me yes and I split the 10 mg. tabs in half and began to feel better the first day.  I am off both now and doing fine.

You might ask your doctor about doing something like this.  This was the first time I had used Celexa after having little problems with other meds over several years.  Yuck.

Good luck to you, I hope you find some relief.  I know it goes away, but it can make life really hard while you are going through the withdrawals.
