I'm coming on too strong?

so theres this girl that i like, and she seemed interested in me too. last week was our first week of school, the first few days seemed to go well, and then idk what happened...

im really good friends with one of her friends and last night her friend told me i was coming on to strong and creeping her out a little and that i needed to lay off a bit. i didnt think i was doing anything like that but idk.

what does this mean? what should i do? does she still like me?
