  1. i don't know of any restaurants in the immediate FLW area...but you could check with the local chamber of commerce ,on line and see if they have any listings....also check Rolla,Mo.,there are some nice eateries in Herman,MO...also Lots of wineries ...one more area to check would be the Washington,MO.,area...all these locations are about 30-70 minutes away from FLW....enjoy your stay....tell your friend i wish him godspeed in his mission.

  2. There is an awesome place in Richland which is just outside of Rolla called Caveman BBQ.  The cool thing about this place is that it is located in a cave. Yep a real cave.  You have to park in a lot and the guy who owns the place comes and gets you in a van and takes you to the elevator that takes you up in the cave.  This was the first time I have ever had to go up to get to one.  The food is really good and it is just a neat place to go to I don’t think there is another place like this in the US.  As for the vegetarian they do have salads so they might be able to assist your friend.

Fort Leonardwood doesn’t have much besides a few chain restaurants, if you all are coming up to STL there are plenty of places to go.  I recommend going to the Soulard area they have some great places like Franco which used fresh food from the farmers market across the street.  Norton’s which is a very casual place with some great Cajun food.  Sage which is a great restaurant that has the coolest desserts around!  They are served in little shot glasses and cost only $1.99 so you can try several of them.  They also have a great menu that changes with the seasons.

In the downtown area there is 11 11 and Vin De Set nice place French food.  There is also Kitchen K which is a very nice place with something for everyone.  I would also suggest if you like sushi going to Wasabi they have plenty to choose from and some dishes for you veggie friend.

There are several awesome Italian places on the Hill everything from fine dinning to casual I really like Raggizi’s home of the fishbowl drinks.  They have some great pizza and other dishes.  Of course your veggie friend can eat some pasta and trust me it is good so they will be satisfied.

If you go to Delmar, U-City or the Loop as we call it they also have some great places.  There is Blueberry hill which is an STL favorite and they have a ton of veggie dishes.  There is also Brandt’s market and café which has a changing menu I really like the trout here.  I would also recommend Fitz’s local Root Beer maker and some awesome food and floats to choose from.  They have outdoor seating which is always nice.  The Loop is also a fun place to walk around in they have plenty of unique shops and other things.  Oh there is also Riddler’s Wine Bar and Café nice place, great food and live music on the weekends.

There are a few nice places in St. Roberts and the surrounding areas.  Sweetwater BBQ is just AWESOME!  Great cheap food that is amazing.  There is also Elbow Inn and BBQ in Devils Elbow which is real close.  The Route 66 Diner is a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Great dinner food and home cooking just like mom makes.  They have a great menu and it is just a fun place!

These websites are awesome I live in STL and use them to find new and interesting places they will help you plan your trip or find information on the places above.

  3. FLW doesn't have anything. Are you flying into St. Louis?

If so, go to The Hill---italian restaurants everywhere---it's great!
