I'm confused about a part in Saw III...?

Question

Okay, so I watched Saw III last night and was confused about a part. In the beginning it shows Lynn leaving that guy Chris' apartment and it shows her putting on her wedding ring and before she leaves Chris says "I want a divorce." But then we find out Jeff is her husband and Chris was the guy she was having an affair with. So if Jeff is her husband then why was Chris asking for a divorce? I may be overlooking something, but I have thought of everything possible and can't come up with anything. Hope someone can help. THANKS!!!
