Okay, so I recently got raped and I waited to get the day-after-pill and I wasn't worried about being pregnant. So, I waited a week or so and when I was at my sisters place, I started to get some major signs. Fatigue. Dizziness. Cravings. Nausea. Some cramping. Higher body temperature. I just got over a cold too. But it's not that, I hope. They say that Implantation bleeding is common with pregnancy and well, I finished my period a week and a half ago and now I'm bleeding again, just a bit though. I've been really moody and stuff and I'm just confused. The other day when I was stressed out, I felt some major pain in my lower stomach, which never happens, since my whole life is stress. I've been reading that I have to wait till about 3 days after my expected period to find out if I am or not, but I'm getting anxious and it's bothering me having to wait. But I want it to be right and accurate. What should I do? Is there any sign that I actually might be? Please help! I'm only 17! AHHH!!!

  1. more than likely your syptoms are from the morning after pill or from the trauma you sustained. you will not get pregnancy symptoms until at least 4-6 weeks. and nausea will not come until implantation.you won;'t be able to get an accurate result until you have missed your period, or even a couple of days after that even. however, if you have been raped, they will give you a blood test for this purpose if you ask them too. then you can find out sooner. you will not have any symptoms until you are at least 3 weeks, and even then it is exhaustion. nausea, dizziness comes @ 4-6 weeks and cravings, not until usually 2 months. that is the average time table. everyone is different though. the morning after pill is 99% accurate also, keep that in mind.

  2. It's actually harder to get pregnant when you are raped. True, sperm can live inside the v****a for several days, but studies have shown that it's easier to get pregnant when the woman enjoys the s*x, not when it's forced upon her. The v****a actually fights back during rape, believe it or not, and it's harder for sperm to survive.

Did the rape happen before or after your period? If it happened before, it's highly unlikely that you got pregnant. The symptoms are most likely from the MA pill.

    Go to the doctor!

Also, you posted this question followed an hour later by a question saying you're 16 and want to get pregnant...hmmm...seems suspicious to me.

  3. I'm so sorry. I hope you are seeing a counselor to help with your trauma.

To answer your question, it actually sounds like these are symptoms of the morning-after pill. It is a high dose of hormones, so you'll probably be feeling crazy. I've never taken it, but I have done the pill and YUCK.

I hope everything works out. Your doctor or pharm may be able to reassure you that these are, in fact, side effects from the morning-after pill. Still, I'd take a preg test once a week for the next few weeks. (Mine took til 7 weeks to show a pos.)
