OK so I have this music theory book, and I got confused with finding the key signature. OK so the key signature is either a flat or a sharp? is that right? so my question is, if there are two flats in the signature, how do you know which flat is the key? and what sites are good for helping with music theory?

  1. Heyy I really like teoria.com and  musictheory.net. Both helped me a lot when I was getting down the MT basics.

Okay, so key signatures. Basically it's just going to be easiest to memorize them. But if there is more than one sharp or flat, the flat on the far right is Fa and the sharp on the far right is Ti. Then you can count up or down to do from there.

But that takes forever. So just memorize.

And keep in mind to be looking for major/minor, because it will be different, unfortunately.

I'd recommend going through the tutorial about key signatures on either of those sites, and if you still don't get it, feel free to shoot me an email and I'd love to try and help :)
