  1. Mazda3 will give you a good 150,000 miles before you come across any problems, and in most cases with good upkeep and regular oil changes you will even get around 250,000 miles out of the engine.

The only thing is that it is a 2008 and it already has 15K miles on it, So you better check the engine oil, transmission, rotors, and the bearings on this car.  Plus if you find that any of these aspects are in any way compromised than you have an advantage in barganing for the car.

  2. Yes sir. It is a reliable vehicle worth purchasing. Coming from a Dodge Ram 1500 to a Mazda3 is a big leap in terms of what you may be used to from the standpoint of reliability. The Mazda 3 would be a poor substitute for any kind of abuse that a pick up truck can manage, so I wouldn't try to do lightweight what I had been doing with the truck if I were you. Assuming your use of a pickup truck has been like a tool to make a living; in this case a Mazda3 is reliable from the standpoint of basic transportation and offers superior gas mileage compared to a Dodge Ram1500.

Take a look at the Mazda 5, same fuel efficient engine, better overall utility and can be had for around the same price range. A very clever vehicle.

  3. i have heard only good things about them, so i say yes it is.
