  1. I've seen a lot of clubs called the 'best'- but Rawlings and Dunlop were never mentioned.

I think you need to give a little more info here. Are you new to golf? How much are you looking to spend?

I'm just a noob myself, so I'm not really one to advise on the best clubs for anyone's game.

I did come across some decent values when I was searching for my own set I just purchased. I would start by going to a large sporting goods store like d**k's or Sports Authority. They should have a demo center for you try out any clubs you are considering - and they sometimes have some excellent values and a wide selection along with knowledgeable staff.

I think Ping and Taylor Made are often touted as some of the best clubs - but that answer is going to vary from person to person.

  2. Rawlings makes a pretty good baseball glove.

  3. Well Certainly no one I know of would consider them anywhere near the best.....However it is your choice not ours that counts here......you have to do what you feel is best for you....not what we think is best.

  4. Groundhog's right, the best club for you is the one that makes you feel comfortable and confident with it in your hands. The only way to really know that is to get your hands on as many different makes and models as possible, usually by demo-ing a bunch at the local pro shop or sports store.

Once you know more about what feels good to you, you can start looking around for the best price, be it at a local shop or an online retailer like RockBottomGolf.com or even through eBay (just watch out for fakes and bad sellers).

That said, Dunlop and Rawlings aren't known for high performance clubs. High-end (and high-price) clubs are usually credited to TaylorMade, Ping, Cleveland, Adams, and Mizuno. Just remember that the price tag means nothing on the course if you don't feel comfortable with your gear.

    Best of luck!
