I'm considering substitute teaching in LA/Burbank area; are there oppurtunities available/ demand for subs?

  1. I am somewhat familiar with the LA teaching area - I spend a good deal of time in LA with people in education, even though I teach in another state.

    It is the same in LA, Burbank, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, etc, as it is everywhere.  Good subs are ALWAYS in demand.  If you are interested in subbing, go for it.  It may start out slow as people/schools get to know you, but if you are good, you will be working 5 days a week.

    Also, and I could be wrong, but your avatar is a male, and that is a bonus for you as male substitute teachers are in even more demand.  My students loved their Mr. Winston, who subbed in my building for 2 years before he found a full time job.
