  1. It depends on the location of the center >  My child has been in childcare from the age 1 to age 5,  The fees I paid stated out as follows: newborn till 1$230.00 , 2yrs . $190.,3yrs$173., 4and up was $144. That includes breakfast , lunch , dinner , and snacks thru out the day.

  2. This totally depends on where you live. I own a large childcare center and have to constantly investigate going rates.  Obviously, the better you are the more you can charge. When you start you might charge a little less to get a good client base. Then go up as your reputation develops. I would provide as much as possible, ie lunch, breakfast, snacks, diapers, whatever. Parents appreciate being able to have a more peaceful drop off, and not spend mornings stressing out about what to put in a lunchbox.  It also means that you can see what allergies kids have and avoid those foods altogether instead of making sure that Susie doesn't touch Johnny's peanut butter, and he doesn't take a sip of her milk. Much easier just to control it all. Good luck - it is a tough job and a lot of work to have it in your home!

  3. It will depend on your location.  Your state website probably has a link to the childcare resource and referral agency.  This agency will have all kinds of information such as rate schedules as well as referrrals to other sources for everything from licensing requirements to tax information to places to get free or low-cost curriculum materials and training.  There may also be an organization for home daycare providers where you could meet others who are doing it and can give you the nitty-gritty of what it's really like, how profitable it is, how to handle different types and ages of children, finding and screening clients, etc.   You'll definitely want to learn all you can about running a small business, too:  it's not as simple as setting up a room and finding children who need care.  Good luck!

  4. Well it depends on the market in your vincinity. You could use http://www.daycarebear.com to find out what your competition is offering and adjust your rates accordingly.
