I'm curious about what I'm seeing as double standards in 'official' liberal thinking:?

Liberals are for children's rights BUT not against child brides or stoning your own children for being with 'the wrong type'. Liberals are for freedom of and from religion BUT not against killing people who leave a certain religion and not against a world where a certain religion reigns supreme over all others and is the law of the land.Liberals are for equality for Jews BUT not, apparently, against anti-semitism.Liberals are for women's rights BUT not against women being without the right to even go to the store without a male escort. Liberals are against slavery BUT not against being considered 2nd class citizens and having to pay taxes (on pain of death) decided by a government they get no part in.Liberals are for freespeech BUT against being allowed to criticize a certain religion.Criticism of Christianity is ok but not criticism of their darling favorite of which they apparently know squat about.

It seems to me that if Liberals want to go on this way they should at least have the honesty to form a radicalized offshoot of the Klan b/c that's where they're headed.

I don't know where you got many of the things you say liberals are not against. Of course liberals are against child brides, stoning children, killing people for leaving a religion, any religion reigning supreme and being the law of the land, anti-semitism, women being forced to live under religious restrictions, anybody being treated as a second class citizen and people being prohibited from speaking their minds about any religion. In fact, it seems that liberals are in fact not in favor of any of the things you say they are. Odd.

although they wont say it. but when you look at their standards and ways of thinking its the truth they have a big game where they only tell one side of the story and hide the other its very deceptive in my opinon liberals should take a look outside the box just for a minute  i dont like liberals because of the path they choose to take its dishonest and a total slap in the face to true americans and our great country  but you will always find a liberal trying to prove you the other way with conspiracy theorys and loads of garbage with no facts most of any fact they think they have is one that was most likely made up in essence a majority of them are pathalogical liers

What you have described is not 'official' liberal thinking. Maybe that is what your 'Conservative' buddies have said about so-called 'liberals' but it is not true.

Everyone is liberal on some issues and conservative on others.

I don't think that wanting a country to not involve themselves in a quagmire in a far-away land that is costing it's country 9 billion dollars a month would mean they approve of the modern militant Islam agenda.  It simply means that the efforts to educate those militant nations is too costly for a nation that see it's own economy collasping before it's eyes, and that - like everything in life - a decision has to be made as to what our priorities are...

...I do wish though that some atheists - even if they can't bring themselves to champion Christianity - they would at least stand up to the ones who out and out ridicule our religions...

I will not indulge the behaviors of someone who cannot bother looking the word liberal up in a dictionary and instead relies on a propagandistic and false definition of the term.

I think the problem with your "question" is not with the definition of "liberalism", but with the definition of the word you are dancing around but won't say, "Islam".  You've been following the MSM and drinking in their characterization of Islam as a religion of murderous, barbaric fanatics.  Of course, there are plenty of examples of this stereotype, in part because of generations of Western interference in the self-governance of Muslim countries.  Osama Bin Laden himself proclaimed that the only reason he had declared his "jihad" (a serious abuse of the word) was the presence of American military bases in Saudi Arabia.  And yet, Western powers, particularly the American government, are ignoring the ongoing international injustices in the Middle East, using military force to "pacify" critics and complaining about the bad behavior of desperate people.  

Terrorists don't commit suicide bombings for fun.  They do it because they are in despair.  They've given up on hoping for change and settled for destroying what they can of an oppressive enemy. But rather than make any effort to improve the situation, the U.S. just deplores these evil actions and takes steps to keep them from happening again, increasing the despair.

The "Islam" you have characterized is a militarized political campaign that has nothing to do with the faith.  It is you that don't know squat about it, beyond what CNN, Faux News & MSNBC spoon-feed you.  Violence and outrage are great for ratings, but they don't produce understanding.  Angry people are not crazy.  They do what makes sense for them, and until we actually learn what their life is like, they can only be enemies to us. We don't have to approve of every belief or practice, just understand it.  And whatever we consider as extreme can't be changed by force.  Change can only come from within.  If they see wisdom in us, they will adopt it.  But right now, they can only see irrational threats of violence and extermination.

Hypocrisy and being a liberal go together.  Yes criticize Christianity, but love the "peaceful" islam that preaches death and world domination.  Have an unqualified woman run for President but tell a very qualified woman to go home and raise her children.  Say you love America, but back a man who's wife only recently became proud of  being an American and who's pastor damned America numerous times.

Liberalism is just another word for choosing a path not tread by many.  Currently, there are many who tread the path of "liberalism", and so it is not true liberalism that they follow.

You must be speaking about liberals in some other country. Not in America...and thats where I live. So, really, I couldnt care less what liberals are doing in your country. Ive got my own country to worry about right now.
