When I finish reading this, what texts do you suggest to give me a greater, possibly anthropological perspective on Darwin and the ideas that are presented in this book?

  1. Read his other book: THE DESCENT OF MAN, by Chuck Darwin.

  2. Darwin was great but he could not see everything.

I would suggest to complete your readings with the symbiogenesis theory of Lynn Margulis.

And since our evolution look like binded with our interactions with the microscopic world, it would be interesting for you to read new evidences.

  3. It's slightly off the subject but why not try "The Future Eaters" by Tim Flannery,

    first published in 1994 by:

    Reed Books

    Level 9, North Tower

    1 - 5 Railway Street

    Chatswood NSW 2067

    Australia.

  4. Dawkins.

  5. The third Chimpanzee by Diamond

  6. Most of the above suggestions are good.  I'd also recommend Steven Jay Gould for a slightly different perspective.  His writings tend to be entertaining and easy to understand.

His writings are slightly outdated at this time (he wrote primarily in the 1980s), but he's still worth reading.

  7. Desmond Morris: The Naked Ape

  8. Fritjof Capra's "Web of Life"

  9. The book: Patterns of Culture.

  10. I gotta suggest your Bible. What year is it? 2007 Why? >Jesus is the reason. Audio bibles can be sleepy if it's not Alexander Scourby reading. Why are there sea shells in Iowa? The flood.

  11. Since you want to continue reading texts regarding the anthropological perspective that expound upon Darwinian concepts, How about:

    Evolution by Mark Ridley

    and/or

Natural Selection: Domains, Levels, and Challenges by George C. Williams
