I am looking for a dependable but affordable moped scooter. I have narrowed it down to 2 Cheetah Motorsports gas scooters, the Cheetah Metro (50cc) and the Cheetah Cruiser (150cc) but I don't know which one is better?

  1. 50cc is small but it depends how much power you want.

  2. The Cheetah Metro and the Cheetah Cruiser both have 2 year warranties, both get similar gas mileages (around 95 mpg) and both are good scooters (my wife has the Metro).

The question really comes to down to what are you going to do with it and where do you live? If you live in the city and are going to use it as a local commuter then the Cheetah Metro (50cc ) is all you will need, they have a top speed of 40-45mph.  Most city streets have max speed limits of 35-45mph.

If you are in a more rural area or are going to use the scooter as a longer range work commuter and will need to ride on larger roads with higher speeds then the Cheetah Cruiser is the way to go. They have a max speed of 60mph.  Or if you plan riding a lot with a passenger or cargo trunk then the Cruiser would be a better choice too.

No one scooter is better it just depends on what you are going to do with the moped.

  3. Since they're the same brand, you really just need to decide whether or not you want to go faster or slower.  Another thing to consider is that in most places for anything under 50cc (most scooters that are 50cc are actually 49cc) you do not have to register or obtain a motorcycle license for it.  This might be worth it to you to not pay the extra and go through the hassle.

  4. go with the 150c
