I'm debating on brutal poem?

I'm debating on whether or not to put this really brutal poem in my poem book for school. My teacher really likes it and says I can use it, but my mom strongly disapproves of it. I personally love it. It's really brutal though. It's about a seven year old commiting suicide. In the end he finds out that his mom really does love him, he just took her nagging wrong. Please I need an opinion.

It is very easy me to say, "Do it; always follow your heart," etc. (that's what i think you should do :)) But it depends; is you mom going to get mad if you do? If so, you gotta think about what's best for you and if you truly love it enough. I'd go for it!!!

If you are creative - and I bet you are - please simply come up with a better poem for the intended audience.  Always consider your audience.  Save the brutality for your personal book.  Keep up the writing though!
