My mom bought this beautiful arabian, he has ver good bloodlines but is not broke. And thats the problem, we need him gone by today! The guy that owns the property we're keepin him at says he just needs to be off the property now. he's for free now. FOR FREE. But everyone that comes by says they wanted a broke horse, and then they leave. Can someone PLEASE give me ideas of a place that will take a stallion? I'm desperate. This sweet hearted horse will be through on the streets by today. With NO WHERE to go. Please Please help anyone!

Check out this place.  I don't know where you live but they are in Texas.  Really sweet people.  Good luck!

  2. for now take him to your house if you got any sort of garden, and then call humane society for help, they probably have some kind of stable they got an agrement with for helping them with saving horses, worst case they hopefully would be willing to help foster him a couple days if you but help pay the cost of feeding and whatnot, till you can find a place

but if you guys where geting a horse then seriously you should have made sure you got a place to keep him, a horse is a lot of responsibility. And you should always make sure you got a written lease agreement with the place you put your horse so you cant be tossed out on the day, but has a couple of weeks alert before having to remove the horse so you can find new arangements.

  3. Call your local humane society and see what they know about hooved animal rescue in your area. The problem is that there are so many horses on the market with hay so high. There isn't much of a market for an untrained stallion.

You might try posting an ad on Horsetopia or Cragislist:

You can't turn the horse loose because that's illegal and your mom could go to jail for doing that, sweetie. This didn't just come up today.

You can also try calling a few barns in your area and see if they have any suggestions.

  4. if he is free, then you might try the humane society or shelter.

They should at least know some more details for that sort of thing in your area.

Also, some people take on "foster" pets, and might be able to help. Again the animal shelter should know anyone around who could help.  Or a vets office.  A few phone calls might be the answer.

Another thing to consider is Studding him out for a few weeks.

If there are any stables around, you might give them a call.  They probably will board him for free for Studding.  They usually keep mares, and a free foal seems like a good bargain to me.

At least that will give you some time to find another home for him.

  6. call your animal control and see if they can at least set up a temporary foster home for him, or can advise you...

most barns don't keep stallions, nevertheless a unbroke stallion on sudden news when he could possibly have a disease or something..... (keep in mind, they always have to have their own horses and boarders saftey in mind, stallions can be very unpredicatable even if they are really sweet)... it's going to seem even more fishy when you say you got him for free.

at minimum, try to find a barn where you could keep him isolated in a strong fenced area for a few days (as long as teh weather isn't extreame and he is fed he will be fine).... and you could always see if you could make a temporary pasture with electric fencing if your neighbor or someone has a lot of land (but again, if he's a stallion you want to aviod doiong this at all costs if there is ANY mares within like 5 miles of you... he could break loose and get hurt, breed unwantingly with other people's mares, or hurt other horses/people)

    good luck!!
