  1. When I flew by myself to my aunt's(I am only 16) my mom got a note from our doctor, and that was all we needed. Some airlines might look at the stuff and ask you for a note, some may not.

    Good luck!

  2. Call the airline before you go and tell them.  They may require that you have a prescription with you.  My son is diabetic and we flew on USAir without anything special and had no issues having all his supplies on carry on luggage.

  3. I carry a note to be safe, but no one has ever asked to see it.  If you call your doctor's office and let them know you need one, they will write you one without you having to set up an appointment.  I'm sure they are asked all the time.

It's on the TSA website as an allowable substance.  Read up on their guidelines here:  http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/s...

They do not say you need a note, but that you need to tell the Security officer that you're carrying diabetic supplies.

  4. get a note from your doctor just to be safe and carry it in your pocket so its easy to get to when/if they ask you. also i would put your shots with an extra meter and your insulin that they know that you are a diabetic.

a lot of the people who work at airlines know when they see it that you are a diabetic but they ask you just to make sure. i once was flying and the person working saw my insulin pump and we talked for about 10 minutes because he was a diabetic as well. small world :]

    i hoped i helped! :]

  5. Depending on where you are going you will probably need a note from your doctor or a prescription.

  6. Its not an issue.  When you go through security, you may need to let them know, but generally I dont say anything.  Theyre used to it.  But do call your doc and theyll make you a letter you can pick up.  But like evryone else, Ive never been asked.  Its not a really big deal.  Though, bring an alcohol swab just in case because last time I flew through LAX they insisted on taking my vials out and "inspecting" them.  Honestly, Im not kidding, watching them holding up a vial to the light...  Have no idea what the point was...  I believe they recommend bringing insulin in its original box (with the perscription label with your name and doctor, etc).
