heres the procedure:

1. Put the thermometer in the jar and close the lid. Wait about 5 minutes and record the temperature. Remove the thermometer from the jar.

2. Soak a piece of steel wool in vinegar for one minute. Squeeze the vinegar out of the steel wool pad. Wrap the steel wool around the bulb of the thermometer. Place the thermometer and steel wool back into the jar and close the lid.

3. Wait 5 minutes. Record the temperature.

question:

the room temperature was 72 degrees so what was the temperature in the jar before the lid was closed and after the lid was closed.

and what would be the temperature inside the jar with the lid on and with the steel wool soaked with vinegar in it?
