so do you know any site that can help me? And I'm talking about superstitions, not urban legends. snopes.com is a list of urban legends - like the coke and pop rocks story. A superstition is, cutting your hair on good friday to kill migraines. I also plan on telling the story behind the superstitionion and the people who believed it to explain how the superstition came about and how any one could believe it.

  1. Don't know any web sites but some are:

Spill salt = bad luck. Comes from when salt was almost as expensive as gold. Spilling it DID cost you a lot of money.

Breaking a mirror = bad luck. May have come from mercury being on the back of the mirror and inhailing this substance could make you go insane.

Putting up an umbrella inside = bad luck - who knows where this came from?

Well, at least you have two with possible explanitions.

  2. Step on a crack

    Don't walk under a ladder

    Full Moon makes people crazy

They are handed down from generation to generation.  But I don't know of a site.
