I'm doing a study abroad, July, in Western Guatemala! What should I pack?

I have never traveled to Central America, and I have no idea what would be appropriate to wear. Any good suggestions or things I should definitely not forget to bring with me?

Let me tell you....

The Winter season begins in Guatemala at the end of May, so you should bring sweaters, warm clothes but not huge jackets, tennis shoes, jeans, boats, a mosquito repelent is always good, umbrella, tshirts.

During the Winter season it rains daily, but I suggest that you also bring light clothes as sometimes the weather turns it a little bit crazy.

Also a camera would be a good option because there are a lot of beautiful places to go.

Don't forget your medicines, in case you take.

I just went to Guatemala about 4 weeks ago! It was amazing! You need to bring an assortment of clothing. I stayed for two weeks, and washed my clothes there once. I packed:

-2 pairs of jeans

-2 pairs of shorts

-1 skirt

-6 shirts

-7 pairs of underware

-7 pairs of socks

- 3 light wight jackets

-sneakers

-flip- flops

-2 bathing suits

Just some advice:

1) DO NOT drink the water

2)DO NOT touch the childrens heads

3) BARGAIN!

4) Make sure you see lake atitlan, i stayed at hotel atitlan. Very nice. I had my clothes washed here very cheap and well done!

take some light cotton cothing but no alot, second take more clothes but for rainy days because its summer and it rain season there, third a internatnal cell, camera, and maybe a computer with compatible internet for the area, some beach clothes and i guess thats it

i agree with louis but you should take normal over the counter drugs like asprin ,sinus ,ect  some of these things its better if you take these things with you
