The problem is that the torrents (4 of them) altogether run slow too at around 10kb/s. So the combined speed is around 15kb/s (my max is 100). Before it was running ok, rapid at 40, torrents at 40 and i could surf nicely. Now as soon as i start torrents everything slows down dramatically...

  1. cuzy you're uploading when you bt and most of the time when you're uploading your download drops this happens with cable.

  2. I'm going to assume you meant to say 80kB/s, because otherwise, you are using ISDN and have no business using Bittorrent.

    This is normal. You probably have some kind of ADSL service. When you begin uploading at full capacity, your download speed suffers.  The rule of thumb is that limiting your upload speed to 80 percent of your maximum upload speed will allow you to download at your maximum speed.

  3. The health of the torrent must be bad;

    A good fast torrent will have a high amount of seeders above leechers e.g. 16 seeders, 3 leechers

    a slow torrent wll have a high amount of leechers above seeders

    e.g. 80 leechers, 4 seeders.
