I'm dying my hair today - Should I wash it before?

I still have product in it from yesterday - mouse and shine serum. Should I wash it before I go to the salon today? If it doesn't totally dry, should I blow-dry it - Or will that make it too dry (as in brittle)?

  1. nah. dont wash it. it's best to leave the natural hair oil in because colouring the hair makes it dry and you need the oil there before.

  2. I would speak to your stylist and let them make the best decision for you

  3. No, all do it yourself hair dye products advise you to color on dry unwashed hair.

  4. Most home hair color kits state that you should not wash your hair prior to coloring it.  It needs to be clean (free of product) but not freshly shampooed.  Normally it is advised that you wait 24 hours from your last shampoo before you color.  I would suggest that you wash your hair ,leave product out of it, and color it tomorrow.

  5. most salons wont want you to wash the hair also if your going to the salon let them decide whether or not they want to wash it or rinse it

  6. Wash clean dry. Remove all oils before applying something to your hair.

  7. Nah don't wash it because the hair gets brittle and weak when wet. So wash it after you dye it. ;-)

  8. Don't wash your hair. You should never wash your hair 24 hours before you dye it. Dye reacts better to and clings better to dirty hair. You can wash your hair after you have finished dyeing it.

  9. I wouldn't wash it, but rinse it without using shampoo.
