  1. One strategy that may help you is using an index card (or any other blank paper) to guide your eyes when you are reading.  I have all of the students in my class do this, and it help them from re-reading lines also.  Just cover what you have not read yet and slide to card down as you go.

If you are comprehending what you read without a problem, then it sounds like you have already learned some sort of coping skills, even if you don't think about them.  In my opinion, as long as you understand and have a good attitude (which is sounds like you do) thats all that matters.

  2. I'm a bit dyslexic too, but with numbers AND letters (3 and E, 6 and 9...), but I used to have a kid who was really bad! I found out from him that sometimes capitalize letters and make it really big and space it out helps and if that doesn't really help then....i dont know....But the main thing he did was he took his time. Read things slowly and try reading them out loud. The brain kind of messes things up a bit when you try to think it, but reading out loud, it somehow makes it a bit clearer. That's all I have, hope it works. And another thing, try learning on your own, too, okay? Sometimes things can't be solved with others. But thats just me. Good luck!

  3. You are a gifted visual learner, also known as a visual-spatial learner or a picture thinker.  Most picture thinkers like you get the "lazy" label. YOU ARE NOT LAZY!

There are strategies to help you use this GIFT to help you learn, write better, and make the letters be "still".  Go to your library and get the book, "The Gift of Dyslexia" by Ron Davis.  Visit this website www.dyslexia.com .  Maybe you could get your mom to read it.  You will need someone to help you with the exercises.

Thousands of kids and adults like you are learning about their GIFT through this book (and the one-on-one program provided by facilitators all over the world).  I am one of the facilitators who provides a program and I also have a website. www.readingquestga.com

"The gift of dyslexia is the gift of mastery." Ron Davis

  4. I don't know anything about being dyslexic but it looks like you can type just fine...

  5. Dear Student,   I noticed in your dialog that you said, " the words start moving around and I get a head ache."  This could be more of a tracking and focusing problem.  My daughter had difficulty with reading and also experienced the head aches.  We had her tested at the age of 14 and discovered she had a tracking and focusing problem.  She went through a program to increase her eye muscle strength.  There were various exercises she had to do.  It really helped.  I would suggest you find an eye doctor that does this type of vision therapy for learning disorders. It is another option that really worked for my daughter. Good luck!
