Question:

I'm either horribly hot, or sunburned?

This morning, I had a tennis tournament starting at 8:30. I played 3 schools, and came home 7 hours later. I was extremely hot, and had no sunscreen on. When I got home, I looked in the mirror and was superly tan. I am asian, so I tan easily, but I don't like it. I like being tan to a certain point. I look brown. Okay, not really, but I am tan to a point that I don't like it.

Onto my question! Okay, so when I looked in the mirror, I saw my cheekbones were red, so I thought, okay, it was just hot out, I worked my butt off, it's just the heat that is making them red. But...two hours have passed, and my cheeks are still red. Is it sunburned? Because I heard it hurts, but it feels fine. If it isn't, what could it be? And if it is, how can I get rid of it? I've been putting ice on it. :)

Sorry for the huge question that you probably do not even care about. :) Thanks to all!

  1. well to get rid of your overly dark tann, put sun screen on before you go to bed and it should lighten up over night.. thats what happens to me. And try taking a cold shower and drink lots of icey water. Stay in a cold place for a while and if your cheeks are still red, theyre sun burned, just put sunscreen on them too. Thats what usually works for me

    Good luck =)

  2. Your sunburned. This happened to me when I went to a water park with no sunscreen. It probably doesn't hurt but it will eventually peel.

  3. Sounds like you are sun burned, even asian or even darker skinned people can get burned if over exposed.  Get some aloe and apply it liberally, it will help get moisture back to your damaged skin and help preserve it.  Chill it down in ice water the first time and keep it in the fridge after that!  It helps take the heat and pain away.  Also fluids, fluids, fluids!!!
