Wi fi is the way to use internet through a wireless device to connect to your cellphone,and video games such as the psp nintendo ds and other devices that are hand held and that dont need cables connected to it ,

wi fi can also be used in consoles such as the ps2 ps3 and nintendo wii

It is wireless internet service, available in certain restricted areas.  If you are in one of these areas, then you can surf the internet with your laptop PC, if it is equipped to receive a wireless signal.
