I'm embarrassed about jogging in my neighborhood? ?

I love running and jogging, but i never can do it around my neighborhood, because i just can't help thinking that someone is watching me laughing,,,

Does anyone have any idea on what to do?

  1. just go running!

    if they laugh at you,you'll get the last laugh when theyre fat and youre in a great shape :)


  2. who cares what everyone else thinks.  only 15% of the US population gets regular exercise.  so basically 1 out of every 10 of your neighbors gets regular exercise, at least you are making an attempt.

  3. People will be watching but not for the reason you think. Most of the time, if I see someone who is overweight exercising, even if they don't look all that coordinated doing it, I'm proud of them for doing something good for their body. Sometimes I watch people jog, and I just think it's interesting, but generally, my thoughts are those of "way to go."

    The best thing to do is to just practice. Get out there and get used to it. You deserve to be out there jogging just like anybody else. People will appreciate that you're doing something good for yourself. The people I have negative thoughts about are the ones who are overweight at Dunkin Donuts or McDonald's, not the ones who are trying to change.

    I just jog on the trails in my woods instead :x

  7. Hahaha i used to do the exact same thing.  But think about it.  when you see someone running in the neighborhood do you laugh at them?  Well i don't.  youre being smart and getting excercise and anyone watching has no reason to laugh at that.  Just get out there and RUN!!! ( :

    If it bothers you waaay to much you could try getting a treadmill but theyre kinda torturous in my opinion...

  8. If you are embarrassed by what the neighbors might say, go jogging early in the morning or late in the evening. You should never feel ashamed for trying to get healthy.

  10. why are you embarassed, girls may say " hey look so and so is jogging

    if your overweight than maybe you should get a treadmill.. if you got a six pack than take that shirt off and run around the nieghborhood.. watch the girls start running after you, if your normal or maybe 10 pounds overweight then just run, who cares what you look like, only you are gonna be with your body all your life so you better take care of it..

    your own body and health is more important than other people who judge you
