I'm entering 8th Grade. What school supplies should I get?

1. Notebooks

2. Notebook paper

3. Binder

4. Subject Dividers

5. Homework Folder(always worked for me)

6. Graphing Caculator

7. Pensils

8. Pens

9. High liters

10. Binder/Folder for Choir(is taking it and its required)

11. Materials for Art(if taking)

12. Gym Clothes

and that pretty much covers it unless you want to get some extra stuff

AnimalLuver is correct on most of the supplies except for the graphing calculator.  Unless you are taking a higher level math (Algebra II) or your teacher requires it a simple or scientific calculator will work just fine.  Have fun in the eighth grade!

Don't over stuff your locker...you have to fit all those text books in remember!

scientific calculator (you wont need graphing until you hit junior/senior year) plus people like to steal graphic calcs.

One subject 5 star notebooks for each major subject (math, history, english, french/spanish, ect)...5 stars are more durable and over a school year notebooks get beat up. (college ruled so you can fit more notes in). Oh yeah, dont get the mini notebooks, get the one subject full sized ones if they have them. Mini's might not have enough space in them.

book covers (most schools require these)

Pens...lots lots lots..they always seem to get lost/stolen/lent out and never returned/dry up or explode.

Highlighter if you want them..but keep these at home for when you study...too much junk in the locker sucks.



Pencils for math class

Folders to keep your HW and handouts in

3 ring binders if you prefer to keep things in there. Keep these at home so when your regular pocket folder fills up, you can empty out the old into here. Plus you can keep thins safe for later years.

a mirror with magnets on the back to hang in your locker

A pack of loose leaf paper..whichever rule your school prefers (college ruled fits more)

Thats all the basic supplies. You can get dividers and stuff if you like to separate things that way (i never used them).  Which ever way you like to organize.  Just dont overstuff your locker.  Leave space for your coat and backpack to hang!  Plus clean out at the end of the year will be easier.
