I get A's and B's in my classes. Well my question is I got a couple of D's in my sophomore year. Other than that I'm helping out my community when I'm on vacation, and I was in my schools football team for about 2 years. Am I still eligible to go to college?

At my start of senior year in high school, what should I be doing to be accepted in to college?

  1. Well i would say you have no problem, I mean I would definately try getting better grades, but I got accepted to college, and highschool wasn't one of my high points in life. lol Remember you can apply to more than 1 college, and you letters that you write are key.

  2. Yes you can still go to college, but it should be a big concern to you that your GPA would affect what type of college you would go to, because some colleges, well the more developed ones, will not accept that low GPA

  3. community college and transfer.

  4. It depends on what college you want to go to and what you want to major in because there are clubs and interests that you can be a part of to look better while trying to get accepted into a college.

I would say that with your GPA, it depends because some college's look really into GPAs and SAT scores.

  5. Depends on where you want to go.  Your state university will accept you with a 2.75 GPA, although possibly not to its flagship campus.  Harvard won't even look at you.  On the other hand, State U will be cheaper and at the undergraduate level, is probably a better bargain. Community college will be cheaper yet.

  6. i would really take it seriously this year, your GPA and your SAT really really matters...keep doing community service and be very active at sports and clubs, that way there's something impressive in your college application...

    good luck. =]

  7. Well you definitely have to make up the Ds. I don't know what state you live in or how college works there but in CA, universities won't let you in with any Ds. You can take evening classes at a local community college. I've been doing that since I was a freshman just for kicks. If you're still  playing football, it can be tough. I'm playing tennis and taking two classes each once a week. just make sure that you drop it if you think that you're not going to have time or you're not going to pass. Check what the last day to drop classes is. You should have made up the classes this past summer or last. And if you did, then never mind but you should still take classes to get ahead and do more community service. Maybe get a weekend job? Also try to take honors/ AP courses. My GPA is not incredibly high either...Just don't spread yourself too thin.
