Question:

I'm feeling a little constipated?

What foods or exercises can i do to get it sped up? I do go running about 6-7 times a week but i had to take today off cause my leg muscles were sore. Plus i have tried taking laxitves and nothing! Ahhhh please help!

  1. Make sure you drink an adequate amount of water too (not too much now, you don't want to wash out all of your electrolytes and overdose) Plus foods with fiber: Whole grain bread,foods with roughage such as  eating apples with the skin, oatmeal and things of that sort.


  2. Don't take too many laxatives, they can seriously mess up your bowels.

    Try relaxing on the toilet, if you're tense, you won't be able to go. You could eat oatmeal with bran mixed in. Or about four prunes. Drink 64oz. of water per day, that will get things moving. Squats help too.

  3. Even if you take fiber pills Chewable as I take, No problem now, Lots of water 10 glasses a day and dont forget fruit.

  4. High fiber food. A lot of it. Then, wait a few hours, and you'll p**p.

  5. I like the Fiber One bars - 35% fiber...It works for me and comes in like five to six flavors - I like the peanut butter myself.  Also, water, water, water!  Instead of laxatives, take a stool softener - cheap.  Also try Activia yogurt.  It takes longer but it helps, especially if you take the fiber with it.  Apple juice, too, or apples with the skin.  Stay away from:  bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast.  

  6. Fruits and vegetables and whole grains.

    Prunes are natural laxatives.

    Watermelon eaten on an empty stomach in the morning flushes you out too.

    Running gets you going, that's good.

    Do some crunches or massage your stomach area a little. That helps sometimes.
