  1. I wouldn't see a psychiatrist, because any visit to a mental health physician goes on your permanent medical record. It would be easier, cheaper, and better for you to talk to your family, a pastor (even if it's not yours), or some friends about what's troubling you.

    They should have some free support groups and other services in your area...

  3. Your local mental health department usually charges based on ability to pay.  If you have insurance, go off your insurance plan.  If you are looking for a therapist, some do sliding scale fees.  It all depends on the type of help you are seeking, where you live, and your ability to pay.
