I'm dating someone and I was wondering how I could get him to adopt my baby and have the fatherly rights to my unborn child.

  1. The father would have to sign his rights away and then the court would have to agree to let your boyfriend adopt the child.  This is highly unlikely and honestly not a great idea.  Their is no legal commitment between you too.  If he seriously wants to be the adoptive father then you can try when you get married.  You haven't been with this guy long enough to be even be considering this.

  2. you can't do anything until the baby is born and most courts won't let a boyfriend adopt a child.  They want to see a committed relationship.

  3. You just got pregnant 5 months ago and your already wanting your current bf to adopt?  You better think about this, plus you have to wait for the baby to be born.

  4. The father generally has to sign over his parental rights for another man to be able to adopt the baby. If he truly wants nothing to do with you or the baby, you could just put your boyfriend on the birth certificate even though he's not the biological father, but I don't know if that would be the best way to go about it because that could get confusing if your child ever has any medical problems that pertain to genetics. That's also probably illegal.

  5. the dad would have 2 allow him 2 adopt him, but most of the time the court want 2 c a strong going relationship

  6. yes, your boyfriend can adopt your baby, BUT the biological father has to sign his rights away for him to do that.

  7. yes the terms depend on where you live
