when on the "confirm your booking page" i have the option of a posted ticket (which costs an extra £75!) or an E- ticket

the blurb reads: "E-Ticket - arrangements are made with the airline to issue an E-Ticket. Your boarding pass can be collected either from the check-in desk if you have baggage or from the E-Ticket machines at the airport if you only have hand luggage."

does this mean i will not have a paper ticket - just an email? how can i be sure that i everything is OK and confirmed if i don't have a physical ticket.

sorry if i am being really nieve about this. i normally go BA and they buy my ticket at the airport

thanks.

  1. Yes, they just e-mail you the ticket and then you print it out and take it with you =]

I have just received mine for holiday in 3 weeks time and can't wait! I also used an e-ticket last year and the year before and had no problems =] You just print it out and take it with you like normal (I print out two seeing as I can be a bit daft, and tend to lose things!)

    Have a nice time =]

  2. E-ticket means "electronic ticket" and in reality

it means "no ticket" - just a confirmation number.

When you get to the airport, you give them that

number (or just your name), they print out your

boarding passes, get on the plane and go.

    .

  3. It just means if you print off your own ticket and take it with you.

When you order the ticket it will give you the option and if its saving you £75 sounds like its well worth it .

    Go for it

send me a post card and enjoy your holiday

  4. There is yet another advantage with the e-Ticket. You buy the ticket online, print out the receipt and present it at check-in but if when you get to Bristol airport you have the same credit card as you bought the e-ticket with, you can use one of the automatic check-in machines (that looks like a CashPoint) to check. You then only need to drop you bags at the baggage drop (shorter queue) and go through security.

  5. Chris,

consider this almost the same as buying your ticket at the airport, only you already paid for it... so you will just go pick it up!

I travel all the time (weekly), and eticket is so easy... all you need to do is give them your name and swipe the credit card you bought the ticket with, and it will give you an opportunity to change your seat,.. and check luggage... and then print out your ticket.  It is also a shorter line then showing up with a paper ticket.

    safe travels!

  6. I was a bit  worried when I first did this with Continental, just print the email off and take it to the airport. In actual fact, we didn't even need the e ticket at the airport, our name was in the computer, we just showed our passports and thet was it!

    No problems, don't worry.

  7. Print thee=mail out and take it to the check in desk,Go from there.
