  1. JetBlue does not currently fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but they do fly into Burbank, Ontario, and Long Beach.  In this case, the airport that you fly into in the LA area should not be too busy at all.  These three airports are not nearly as hectic as LAX.

If you are flying out of John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, be prepared for a very long taxi time before getting airborne.  The summers, especially when there are thunderstorms in the area, can be very problematic for JFK, and can cause delays of up to two or three hours for aircraft trying to depart the airport.  So if you are departing from JFK, just be aware of the possibility that your flight may end up getting to California a bit behind schedule.

As for the flying experience on JetBlue, it can be quite good.  I cannot speak for the service they offer on their longer flights, but you will have a video screen on the seatback in front of you.  This is one of the amenities that JetBlue is known for (along with their blue potato chips).  The video entertainment is free and offers a choice of movies, television channels, etc.  It definitely helps to pass the time!

  2. Jet Blue is excellent. You should arrive 2 hours before your departure, LAX is very busy- especially on a weekend night.

  3. I assume your flying out of JFK, if so, then arrive at least 2hrs before depature. same as any other airline, get in, sit for a few hrs, and get off, praying that your luggage made it with you in one pc.

  4. Jet Blue is great. Print your boarding pass in advance.Bring a set of headphones for the music and tv. The plane will be very full, but people are usually very quiet on the plane. Security should take less than 15 minutes and be sure to follow all the TSA rules.
