Fireworks hitting out plane? I know our plane is HIGH up, but i'm a bit scared because it's my first time flying and i'll be alone. :(

I know it's silly, but I can't help it.

  1. Since airplanes fly at about 30,000 feet above the ground, I'd say there's a 0% chance that a firecracker will hit the plane. Explosives need oxygen to burn - there's less oxygen at that altitude than at ground level, so there would be no way for the fireworks to make it that high up in the air anyway.

    Just relax, and have a great flight.

  3. About zero. Like you say, except shortly after takeoff and shortly before landing, you're waaay up there.

  4. even if they did hit the plane... there are just a chemical reaction. i'm pretty sure they wouldn't effect a big plane.

    and do you really think fireworks are permitted anywhere near an airport?? once you're away from the airport there is no chance that fireworks could hit you.

    you'll be just fine! i flew for my first time a few weeks ago and it was fun... just enjoy the new experience. there is a one in a million chance that a plane will be struck down. i highly doubt you'd be a part of that.
