  1. That would be a 40-minute train trip between CDG and downtown Paris. Consider the time spent getting out the airport and in a train, back and forth. That's simply unworkable.

Stay in the airport, enjoy the shops, have a few pastries and a café.

If I remember correctly, the shops in CDG accept most major currencies, should you have to pay cash.

  2. Not really. I takes at least 45 minutes to get to the eiffel tower from the airport. Sorry buddy, maybe next time.

  3. There is no way that you could get to the center of Paris and back to the airport in time to connect to your flight to Budapest. The distance isn't that much, but the traffic in Paris can be very overwhelming...

And near the airport there isn't much to do or see..

I recommend that you just browse the airport shops, and have a coffee  & croissant in one of the cafes, then check in early for your other flight.

  4. 4 hours isn't enough time to leave the airport, see something and get back in time.  Just look around the terminal and try some of the delicious French food.  You can also buy cheeses, cookies, chocolates, etc.  Some of the prices are actually reasonable (but not dirt cheap).  Most of the food in the airport is authentic French food-- the same stuff you can buy in the city of Paris.  I guess that the French culture in the airport is as real as American culture in an American airport.
