  1. Just a little medical advise for your baby. When you fly the atmospheric pressure changes .So the pressure difference on either side of the eardrum differ much .This will give a sharp pain in the ears of your baby when the plane ascends or descends. To avoid this while ascend or descend try to make your baby suck milk -either breast or bottle. this will help in better equilization of the pressures .So that that sharp pain is avoided. The baby cries loudly during ascend or descend .This is the reason behind this.I am a mother of two small children who frequently travels. My experience after making the baby suck  is best. Doctors confirm this. Forward this message to all your friends who travel. Please check the site

for any small doubts regarding your baby and to check his development mile stones. This site has got a good pictorial explanation for the babys development month by month.

  2. Does your car set fit into the stroller?  You can put her in the car seat, in the stroller and walk that right up to the gate.  At the gate they will check the stroller for you and you keep the baby in the seat.  Use the seat on the plane and when you get off they will give you your stroller back.

    Happy traveling!

  3. If your daughter has her own seat, then you should have an easy time if it is a travel system. Most airlines will gate check your stroller at no cost. When I fly with my little one, I usually take a "back-pack" style diaper bag so that my hands are free for other carry-on items. The most difficult part of the experience will probably be getting through security, but in my experience, someone will usually break down the stroller for me. Good luck, and just consider bringing the essentials when you pack. It's amazing how much "stuff" we think we need sometimes:)

  4. You actually do not need to take the car seat in with you in the airplane, you could check it. It would be better that way, I personally found taking the small /light stroller would be best and just take everything you need in the diaper bag then it would be better for you.

  5. Call the airline ahead of time and ask, but most will allow you to bring your stroller right to the gate, and then they will check it into cargo for you, and then when you land you have it when you get off the plane.

As for carseat, you don't NEED to have a carseat in her seat unless you want to have one.  I have never flown with a carseat for my son, but I did have him on my lap until he was 2.

If you have one of those strollers that the car seat snaps into then that is the easiest way, but if not, perhaps one of the Airline Agents can get the carseat to the gate for you so you don't have to tote it around the airport.  Again, call and ask, I'm sure they'll have some suggestions.

As for on the airplane, go out to the dollar store/target/walmart and buy a couple of little cheapy toys for baby.  They will keep your little one entertained because they are new to her.  Give her a bottle/pacifier or breastfeed (if you do) on takeoff and landing to help with her ears adjusting to the pressure changes.

Bring extra diapers/change of clothes for her (more than you would normally, just to be sure!).

    Good luck!

  6. I'd ask for help from one of the airline attendants getting on and off the plane, then once you are out in the concourse, use one of the carts.  The cab drivers will help you a bit from airport into car and out of car to the hotel, then once at the hotel, the staff will help with everything.

    Good LUck

  7. See if a friend can come with you to help you carry. Also they usually have carts you can use.

  8. Hi-  I am flying for the first time tomorrow alone with my 3-month old.  I surveyed friends and it seems the way to go, if this is an option for you, is to take a car seat attached to the stroller base.  You can take the stroller and car seat right onto the plane, then they will check the base of the stroller for you there where you get on the plane and you can just carry the carseat to the seat with you.  getting through security will probably be a little tricky, but people told me that airport security people will help you as needed as you go through the check point.

I also got a recommendation to buy one of those car seats that have the wheels and handle attached like a piece of luggage, but a couple of other people told me that it is easier to have the stroller because you can use it to transport the diaper bag and anything else that you may be carrying on.  Good luck!
