  1. She needs  a pet taxi that will fit under her seat but since it is a exotic animal you need to call the airway you are flying with

  2. Dude, I sincerely doubt if any shrink would put in writing that a girl depends on a lizard (iguana, water dragon, etc) so much that she cannot travel without it to the extent of her being disabled under the ADA guidelines.

Even if this was the case, the lizard(s) would be charged to be in the passenger cabin at a higher rate (per lizard) than the human passenger.  They also would have to be kept under the seat for the entire flight and your friend could not even bring the transport cage out on her lap at any time during the flight - or she would be charged with a Federal offense at the end of the flight.

Probably not the best idea for this situation, is it?

  3. Number one, she needs to confirm with the airline what animals they will accept as a comfort animal. A lizard may not be acceptable but it is up to them, no matter what the doctor says.

Number two, she needs to have a letter from a doctor or mental health professional, on letterhead, that states she needs to travel with the animal. Not just any doctor will do. I've seen passengers try to fly with a note from a chiropractor.

Number three, if the above two are taken care of, make sure she has a pet carrier small enough to fit underneath the seat in front of her. Check with the airline for dimensions, and most carriers will have the sizes right on them when you purchase them.
