Question:

I'm fourteen, is my makeup too harsh? (pictures)?

I'm fourteen years old, and was wondering any tips you might have to improve my makeup. Should i ease up on it? I usually just put liquid eyeliner on the top but i noticed that after like an hour of putting it on, it starts to wear off and get messy.

I have blonde hair, by the way.

i've always a light shade of brown, with a slight glitter to it,

do you think brown would look good with my eye color?

  1. yeah browns would look good with ur eyes and i dont think u are wearing to much makeup

  2. using eye liner on the bottom inside of your eye makes ur eyes smaller, i think you shoule just use the eyeliner on the top and thin and then put some lipgloss on and you are good to go!! :)

  3. Not at all. I think it brings out your eyes =)

Id stick with back tho =P

  4. I think you should just put liner of the top of your eye,

brown would be okay but stick with black

  5. You shouldn't use a black eyeliner/pencil. You should use dark brown since you're blond with blue eyes. And brown and gold eye shadows look great with blue eyes. But you should go with a bit more of a natural look: mascara and thin eyeliner on the top lid only, a bit of blush/bronzer, a swipe of lip gloss and you're ready to go.

    =]

  6. Yeah, I think there's too much liner.  Why don't you just do mascara and a nice shadow?  If you need to make your lashes look heavier then ditch the liquid eyeliner and just use a pencil liner deep down in your lash line before you put on your mascara.

You could do your current look as an evening/special occasion look but I think you just need to lighten up a bit, esp. with your hair color.

Some of this is regional, though--I'm in California and we do a pretty natural look this close to the beach.  I know in different parts of the country they do different things.

Have you been to the MAC store for a makeover and just tell them you need a lighter daytime look?  Tell them you have a job in an office after school and you need a professional look.  They did a great job for my niece who has red hair and aqua eyes--it was subtle but it really made her eyes pop, and made her look a little older.

  7. I think brown would look better on you, if you're a blonde.

  8. Your makeup looks fine. The only "too much" i think with makeup would be Vegas drag queen makeup and you're no where near there. So you're good =]

  9. a shimmery brown eyeshadow cover girl's carbon balck volumous mascara and some lip gloss would really bring out ur eyes and make u look more natural, liquid eyeliner doesnt last as long and is harder to apply, i reccomend cover girl soft pencil stick if u really want to wear eyeliner.

  10. i think that a dark brown on just the lid is a subtle look for someone who is blond/blue and young.  you want to keep it fresh and just let your natural beauty shine through, maybe try a brown shade of mascara as well.  i have noticed when your curl your lashes, it definitely decreases the amount of eye make-up needed to get that popping effect.  if you are having a problem with wear and messiness i definitely recommend maybelline's unstoppable liner in waterproof (the cinnabar is an excellent color).  it is easy to put on and looks great all day and can be removed with a little baby oil on a tissue.

a lot of the time i have noticed that smudging is due mostly to mascara run as well.  maybelline's lash stylist in waterproof is one of my fav's that looks great and stays on all day.
