I'm freaking out. Don't laugh. :( I'm 14 and just lost a tooth, is it an adult one?

Seriously, I don't want a big gaping hole in my mouth when I'm older. My mom said I'm not supposed to be losing teeth this late, so it just kind of worried me. Even though every dentist I've been to gave me this weird look and a million extra checks before telling me I've got two adult teeth that won't ever come in near the back. They didn't really specify where, just "near the back" or something. Eh, anyways... I'm also not really up to date with what names different teeth have, so I'll try to describe stuff the best I can.

It's on the top right. Don't you have four front teeth? If it's four, it's three teeth to the right of the furthest right of the front teeth. If there's two, well... four teeth to the right of the furthest right of the front teeth. I don't really know, someone told me you have four. :D I don't necessarily remember losing a tooth there before, but I can't be sure. It's kinda small, I guess. Looks to be wide and broad. I don't know what much else I can say about a tooth. When you put it down, it's not tall. I guess that's what I mean.

So is that a baby tooth? =( Or do I need to describe it a little better?

  1. You only loose a tooth naturally at young age once. So if that tooth(same place) has already fallen out then yes it was an adult one. If it was a kind of small tooth that has been there all your life then no.

  2. i'm 13, and the tooth you described, well i know i never lost it but i have a brace on it.. so im asuming its an adult too, or my orthodontist, but a brace on a baby tooth!

but i mean i've only lost 10 teeth, and got 4 teeth pulled, so it still could be a baby tooth that you lost. but maybe your mom should call the dentist or something and see if its a baby tooth or adult tooth!

  3. :D Everything will be juuust fine, trust me!

  4. If you haven't lost that tooth before.. then it's a baby tooth.

And by the way. Many people are still loosing teeth at your age, don't worry. I still have friends who are your age that are still loosing baby teeth. So, it's not a big deal.

  5. your description isnt the best, but i will tell you this. i'm 14 too and i currently have one loose tooth and two more that arent loose that need to be lost. and that isnt including molars. ive lost one molar in my entire life. so dont freak out to much. it isnt super super out of the ordinary.

  6. What are you talking about?  You don't explain yourself very well.  So you have a tooth that fell out, but who can tell from your description where the heck it is.If it has a root on it, it is a permanent tooth.  If it looks almost hollow, it is a baby tooth.  People loose their teeth at different times.  You are a little old to be loosing a baby tooth, but this could be quite normal for you.

  7. Put the tooth in milk or salvia, and go to a dentist now.

  8. umm well I'm kinda confused

    but..

my guess would be that its a baby tooth or...

you are like my moms cousinn who had three sets of teeth Lol

    hope i helped =]

  9. it depends on if you've lost all your baby teeth yet.

    have you.?

if you've lost that tooth before, then its an adult tooth.

if not, its a baby tooth, which is propbably it.

  10. Its probly a baby tooth- im 14 too and i still have 2 baby teeth! Also my mum lost her last baby tooth when she was 35!! Anyway look at the tooth and unless it has HUGE roots on th bottom thenits a baby tooth.

  11. not a baby tooth, ur too old for that now

  12. I wouldn't be all that worried because I'm 14 and 9 months ago I lost a tooth, and I have one that still needs to be lost.

  13. most likely its not a baby tooth so you shuld see a dentist
