Just better foods, weather, friendly girls and guys, wines, city transport, libraries, colleges and universities nearly as good, great lamb, seafood, coffee, and best selection of fruits and vegies....huge range of restaurants, decent roads, best beaches in the world....what else do you need,  I am a former Yank...now live here.  Cheers.

It's lovely. I live in a city, but there's also a lot of outback (bush/scrub) on the outskirts. I wake up every morning to Galahs and birds singing, now that it is Autumn I wake up to the occasional 'pitter patter' of rain on the roof. I go about my day and I just feel so d**n lucky I'm an Aussie.

In the Summer it's even better. It's always warm, you sleep in little to no clothes, you turn the air conditioner or the fan all the way up, and you wake up to a glorious morning, you swim, walk and enjoy the sunshine before it gets too hot and do it all over again.

I just LOVE Australia.

It really depends where you go - there are so many different areas - it's just like the differences between the states in America.  Where specifically are you interested in?  I live in Brisbane, Queensland so if you want any info about this area let me know and I can tell you anything!

It's a marvellous place to live, but it's very big and there are many differences between regions when you get down to specifics.

Our large cities like Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are modern and offer pretty much the same opportunities and things to do as American cities, but our lifestyle everywhere tends to be more laidback. We have the same TV shows though they're usually a season behind. We have malls and Starbucks and McDonalds (we call it Maccas) and Krispy Kreme donuts, but we also have heaps of Australian places too. Our schools and universities (colleges) are very good and we have an excellent social welfare system including universal healthcare. You would already know about our never-ending beaches and perhaps even a little about the outback and the Great Barrier Reef - well, they're even better than you've heard.

I live in Brisbane in the sub-tropics so we have wonderful weather all year 'round. We only have 2 seasons - Summer for about 9 months and a beautiful, sunny, blue-skied Winter for the remaining 3 months. In Winter, the daytime temperature is usually 15 - 23 C (59 - 73 F)  though it can drop fairly low in the very early morning. Other places further south like Melbourne have 4 seasons , but it only snows in Winter in the high mountains.

Overall, Australia's a safer place than America, due largely to our completely different attitude to guns. I've never seen a gun  in Australia and I don't think anyone I know would have either. Handguns are unheard of except for competition pistol shooting. Our gunshot death rate per capita (murder, accident and suicide combined) is apparently less than 5% of the American rate.

I've travelled all over the world and have spent a lot of time in America. I enjoyed my times in the US, but believe that life here is better for most people. My daughter has a lot of American student friends here in Brisbane (they play together on the University of Queensland soccer team) and every one of them wants to stay here permanently.

i live in Australia and i think there is no other country in the world thats better. I've travelled and seen beautiful places but nothing beats comming back here. The people are friendly,  and all you need to do to fit in here is just apdopt a laidback lifestyle...not a care in the world..relax

Paradise, just dont go to live in the big smoke Sydney, everyone is leaving there in droves because of the Middle Eastern crime wave, overcrowding, house prices ect.

not really but its pretty great

ive travelled a lot and i still think here is best

its more relaxed than america,

its just a completely different lifestyle

it really depends on witch part of Australia you live and alot of people have different op pinions so if you like warm and dry then some where like the outback or the country but if you like city life then canberra, sydney, melbourne, brisbane would be the ideal place to live. so yes australia is a nice place to live in my oppinion.
