I'm really excited good and in bad ways. We havent had rain here in south Texas. I'm from Brownsville and the National Weather Channel says that Dolly is going to become stronger once it hits the Gulf of Mexico waters and turn into a Hurricane. We are right in the middle of the pathway..Do you know if its really gonna hit or can it make a sudden turn?? What important things should I go buy right now or should I even worry?? Help me out please!!! What kind of battery operated radio should I buy and where at?? My husband is not even worried, I guess since this always happens where a storm comes and then totally turns somewhere else..he doesnt believe it...

  1. i too live in brownsville

dont except any huge floods because its only a catergory 1

I dont think it has enough space to make a turn in such a way that we wont get hit because its already really close. Well i would make sure you have water.. some snacks flashlights i would just get a radio at walmart nothing too fancy

Yea im not really worried either but this one i believe is going to hit us

  2. watch www.kwou.com

  3. The storm will affect Brownsville in some fashion for sure.  Heavy rains are likely Tuesday-Wednesday and high winds as expected.  Wind speeds of 60-70 mph max are probably what you can expect in the city.  That is enough to knock down power lines and keep your powerless for a bit.  The storm shouldn't be too bad in relation to past major hurricanes, but you should have a plan of some sort.

Check out the below website for more information of preparing for a storm. You should have groceries for about 5-7 days just in case and have flashlights (battery operated) and radio.

  4. just make sure you fill your gas tank, they will increase gas and create huge lines, also buy some water and ice and food that does not require cooking..

But i don't think it will be that bad though..  but never hurts to be prepaired.

    Goodluck, and be safe.
