After studying in Australia for 6 years, I come back to China, I found that many people hide their feelings about the Government. When I think of the Government use threatening method to control the peple, I really wanna vomit. I didn't feel that 6 years ago. Am I abnormal?

  1. Rebellion is human nature and is an expression for the desire of freedom. Very natural. However, the Chinese people have been oppressed by fear for so long, this expression is not easy. In addition, it is easier for people raised in western culture to be rebellious, because less value is placed on being respectful to authority figures (a polite way of saying the people in the west are basically rude compared to people in Asia).

Sounds to me that you might be happier moving back to Australia.

  2. no buddy...you are not abnormal.you are perfectly fine, its just that you have been exposed to what democracy is all about. Freedom to voice your opinion and not being afraid to do so.

  3. Your eyes have been opened. You are from a place where people have to keep their true feelings to themselves, especially where the Government is concerned. I think you are absolutely normal. If you had never left China You would have never known that there are other ways to do things.

  4. You're not abnormal. You have matured, learned the benefits of freedom, and find it difficult to accept the ways that governed your early years. There are different interpretations of the old saying, "You can't go home again". In your case you now see the negative side of governmental control and lack of self improvement and find it hard to go back to that environment. But in all fairness, you aren't the first to make it to this pivotal point of life. The question is, where do you go from here. Having always been fortunate to live in a free country I can't really comprehend the challenge you face. I sincerely hope you will have the opportunity to make life choices that provide you the chance to live as you desire.
