  1. Eighther is fine. Most businesses deal in both currencies.

  2. both currency are accepted in cancun

  3. I'm guessing that you'll get a better rate on USD in England than you would for Mexican Pesos so I would take a small amount of USD, enough to get you through the airport and may be a day or so until you get to a bank. Then just use your bank card to withdraw pesos from the ATM. You'll likely need to pay about $5 in transaction fees but it's easier. You won't need to wait in line and you also won't be walking around with all the cash you need for your vacation.

Also, if you spend pesos you will find things are cheaper usually by about 10% (because shops and restaurants don't give you the best rate on USD, though they will happily take them). Shops are all going to give you 10 pesos to the dollar but the bank rate is closer to 11 pesos per dollar.

  4. It depends where you will be, normally in the touristic areas and near the border everybody take dollars, but each shop choose the best exchange rate for him. Some other times you receive your change in pesos....

I would take a good amount in pesos, or I would change the pounds direct in México (in all international airports they take pounds).

  5. The pound/Euro/Sterling all have a great exchange rate here (at the banks and hotels) but if you go ahead and exchange into pesos you will be saving yourself a step or two.

No matter where you go...and you pay cash you will receive pesos as change.

If  you run low on cash you can always go to one of many ATM's throughout the hotel zone and the city.

Have a great holiday and remember your suntan lotion.

  6. Most places take either.  I do not know that you can convert pounds anywhere but at a bank.  Pretty sure you could not use them at a small vendor or even Wal-Mart.

Right now the dollar is soft but figure about 11 pesos to the dollar.  There are websites where you can convert pounds to dollars and/or pesos.  You would have to carry less (physically - fewer # of bills) if you take dollars.

Major creditcard like Visa will work at larger places; also gets you the best exchange rate.  Just be sure and get any receipts.  Do you have Visa cards in England?

  7. The BEST thing to do is to take your ATM card and get money out as needed...there ate ATM's everywhere and you get the best exchange rate that way.  If you pay in pounds or dollars, you will pay about 10 % more for everything..it is better to pay in pesos.

  8. take british pounds and exchange them to pesos.  the pound has the greatest value of all money right now so just exchange them somewhere.  you'll get the most pesos that way

  9. I think I would bring pesos if available. Your silver pound is worth 2 times the dollar. You should get a good conversion rate against the pesos. Either currency is widely accepted.

check the conversion rate both ways

    Good luck and enjoy)

  10. both r ok

    but i would recommend dollars

  11. Take your pounds to the bank for peso exchange. Get a few US dollars for small transactions before you get to a bank, vendors don't know pounds and won't take them.

  12. dollars....they have prices in dollars and peso's usually everywhere you go.  Plus at the bars if you tip in dollars, it seems more effective.

  13. take peso the dollar is kind of weak at this period of time but just in case take dollars too.
