Buy a 2 week return flight - tell them you're on holiday when you get to the airport.  Then when you get outside throw your return portion of the ticket in the bin and presto !!!   You're a Yank !!!

First, get a job with a US employer. You can search for jobs that fit you and email your CV to them. If they want to hire you, they will try to arrange a visa for you.

You can also visit as a tourist for 3 months and try to find a job with an employer who will sponsor you during that time.
