I'm from NJ looking to move to Maine. Community question

We are a young family of 4. Right now we live in a prestigious town in NJ. BUT NOBODY wants to talk to you unless they know your street address. Honestly, the first question I get, when I'm at the playground with my kids is WHERE ABOUT DO YOU LIVE? ON WHAT STREET? it's simply getting to be ridiculous, because right now we are renting and once they find out we are renting they turn around and walk away, or pull out their cell phone. They don't even give you a chance!!! I think its very rude!

So, have been visiting Maine. And I just can't afford to put my family in NOT BEIGN ACCEPTED situation again. Any suggestions?
