I've been out of the country a few times, but have never had to worry about money value too much, this will be my first time visiting Guadalahara. I plan to see some sights, and maybe do a little shopping, but not too much else, my 2 girls and I are going to do some preaching work, so we won't need a bunch. Any suggestions????

  1. $500 - $1000. If you have atm card I would use that instead and only take about $100 cash in 20's.

  2. Well it can be as cheap or expensive as you want... but as you're on holidays with your girls I would suggest  to take as much as you can, eat at nice places, stay in a nice hotel... I usually travel with my debit card, this helps to have the local currency without having to change money every time.

I think 1,500 dlls should be ok but if you can afford to spend a bit more I think you probably should. Guadalajara is a very nice place and there will be lots of things you would want to do. Public transport is really cheap and tickets to museums and local attractions are cheap too. If you are planning to shop something from the malls that would be as expensive (if not more) than in the US

  3. I wouldn't go there with kids. Take as little as possibnle as you will be robbed, if they think you have some money. Nothing to see except dirt and thieves.

  4. i would say u should be ok with 500 - 1000

  5. usually for just one day i spend about 100 dollars just shopping...

i'd say bring at least 1000

  6. My family of 5  went last summer for one week and I took $1000.  Part of that was spent going to Manzanillo too.  Food is not expensive there. It really is up to you on what you can afford to spend.

    Have fun!!
