My supervisor is driving me nuts. I had to order a book from this organization that we belong to. We recently got a membership with them. When I went to order the book, it asks for a username and password. Now the only thing she had given me was an "ID number". I tried using this ID number but it didn't work. So I went to her and told her. She told me to print off the ordering form so we could just fax it over (we wouldn't need a username and password this way). Well that didn't work either, because I needed to know the total cost of the book with shipping and in order to do that, I needed to log into their website and get the price. But, of course, it didn't work because I didn't have the correct log-in info. So I told her this and she said she would give them a call. Well she just came over to my desk and said "Well! I had no trouble at all, I just ordered it over the phone, how come you didn't do that?" I told her that she had wanted me to fax it over, not phone! I wasn't going to phone because the account isn't in my name and besides, she has the credit card, not me! She was all annoyed because I was unable to complete the order. But I had told her that I had TRIED to order it online but that I didn't have the correct account information. I'm just so mad and flustered. Am I overreacting to this? Was this my fault?

  1. No this was not your fault. You followed her directives and did not have all of the pertinent information necessary to complete the order online or by fax. Maybe she was just having a bad day.

Next time just ask her if she would like you to handle the situation by phone with the credit card if you end up in a situation like this.
