Congrats on owning new horses.  However, I wouldn't suggest naming a horse that already has a name.  Horses are living breathing creatures that can't be named over and over again.  They have their own identity just like you have yours.  For example, If you were adopted, you woudn't want your foster mom to change your name, would you?  Say your horse's name is PJ and you changed it to Abby...which name would the horse respond to?   However there are some circumstances in which you could change a horse's name.  If they are young, un-named, or the name is innapropriate in some sort of way I would definetley change a name.  Also, feel free to change the name if the horse isn't used to it's original name.   That being said....

Wait until you get the horses, then find a name that fits their personality.  My son had a welch that looked like a minature Clydsdale.  He had such a sweet personality. And we ended up calling him "Little Britches".  Just seemed to fit him.  After you are around them a short while, a name should come to you that will fit him or her.

In the past I have had a, Lady, Magic, Wildfire, Flicka, Fleet, Tiny Tim, Little Britches, Peaches, Champ & Easy Diane.  Roany, Sorral, Princy Baby, Pebbles, Danial, Lucky.

If you can wait a few days to name them, you might find just the perfect name for your new friends.  Give them a carrot for me, OK.

I hope you enjoy them and become best friends with them.
